“Romantic destination” is a term that can be very overused, but here is one, we assure you, that will exceed all your expectations. Imagine arriving after a tedious journey and opening the door onto a spacious room with magnificent Georgian fireplace, limestone flooring, comfy and elegant furniture, off which is a modern well-equipped kitchen. You dump your bags in the huge double bedroom, glance at the tasteful bathroom as you return downstairs to light the fire, although the under floor heating means the room is already warm. You open a complimentary bottle of wine, get out your favourite book as you sink into the sofa, listening to the crackle of the fire and just enjoy being in somewhere special. And it is special. With direct access down to a beautiful creek and the foreshore of the Salcombe estuary, the site dates back to William the Conqueror and where you are staying is part of the Manor House, which was originally built in 1088. You are in the beautiful South Hams, halfway between Salcombe (4 miles) and Kingsbridge (1.5 miles) and within striking distance of golden sandy beaches, stunning coastline and wonderful scenic walks. Excellent inns and restaurants abound with so much else to do that a week is just not long enough. But hey, its certainly worth a try. Please Note: The property is not suitable for children but immobile babies are welcome.
