Rose Anne cottage is quietly tucked away in the centre of the picturesque East Devon town of Colyton in an Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This cottage annex is well equipped, comfortable and conveniently located to take advantage of this fascinating Medieval town with its maze of narrow Saxon streets, and magnificent fifteenth century church and listed buildings. There are a selection of shops, pubs and restaurants tucked away amongst the thatched Devon cottages and many glorious walks in the surrounding countryside. Secure garden for pets. One well behaved dog is welcome (and two dogs will be considered) The ancient village of Colyton was established in Saxon times, The picturesque Axe River and estuary is also very nearby amidst the unspoilt countryside. This area is a haven for walkers and the famous South West Coast Path lies close by with spectacular views across Lyme Bay. The local villages are fortunate to have a good choice of public houses, offering a selection of locally sourced produce and local beers. The Axe Estuary Wetlands, a well-managed wildlife reserve is a very short drive away where a large number of birds congregate to feed on the mud flats and salt marshes and these can be viewed at close quarters from one of many hides strategically located along the reserve. A short drive away are the popular coastal towns of Seaton, Beer, Charmouth, Lyme Regis and West Bay. The popular Seaton Tramway, running along the Axe estuary, stops nearby offering a relaxing way to discover the local area. The whole of the Jurassic Coast, now a World Heritage site, is within easy reach and the lovely West Dorset seaside town of Lyme Regis is only 15 minutes away by car with its sandy beach and seafront promenade. The town includes celebrity chef Mark Hix's superb Oyster and Fish Restaurant, along with many other restaurants, cafes, pubs and tearooms.
