Westward Ho! beach is within walking distance of the cottage and is a great place to visit through the whole year. Appledore itself offers a plethora of pubs, restaurants and tea rooms including the luxury Seagate Hotel, and the popular Beaver Inn. Many of the nearby pubs also have live music nights throughout the year which prove a great evening out. The ancient town of Bideford is also within easy reach and is home to boutique shops and cafes and has a regular ferry to Lundy Island.
